What exactly does a health coach do?
A health coach helps you turn health advice into real-life habits. My role isn’t to diagnose or prescribe, it’s to support you with behaviour change, consistency, mindset, stress, and daily routines so the changes you want actually stick.
Most people don’t struggle with knowing what to do. They struggle with doing it consistently when life gets busy, hormones shift, motivation dips, or stress takes over. That’s where coaching helps.
How is health coaching different from seeing a doctor or dietitian?
Doctors and dietitians are essential and I encourage clients to work with them. They focus on diagnosis, treatment, and clinical guidance.
Health coaching focuses on:
• habits and routines
• behaviour change
• stress, emotional eating and gut health
• mindset and sustainability
• support between appointments
It’s not either/or, coaching often works best alongside medical and nutritional care.
If I already know what to eat, will coaching still help me?
Yes, and this is one of the most common reasons people come to coaching.
Most clients already know what they “should” be doing. What they need support with is:
• staying consistent
• managing stress and overwhelm
• navigating menopause symptoms
• breaking all-or-nothing patterns
• stopping the cycle of starting over
Coaching is about implementation, not information.
Is health coaching suitable during peri-menopause or menopause?
Very much so. The menopause transition affects energy, mood, sleep, motivation, stress tolerance, and body composition. Strategies that once worked often stop working.
Health coaching during this stage focuses on:
• working with your changing physiology
• building sustainable habits
• reducing pressure and perfectionism
• supporting nervous system regulation
• creating routines that fit this phase of life
It’s not about pushing harder, it’s about working smarter.
Will you give me a meal plan or exercise programme?
I can if that’s what you want but I don’t believe in rigid plans that don’t survive real life.
Instead, we focus on:
• practical nutrition guidance
• flexible frameworks
• movement that feels realistic and supportive
• habits you can maintain long-term
If you’re working with a dietitian or trainer, I help you implement their recommendations in a way that actually fits your life.
How long does coaching usually take?
That depends on your goals, your readiness to make changes and where you’re starting from.
Some people benefit from short-term support to regain momentum. (6 week intensive) Others choose longer-term coaching to build deep, lasting change. (3 or 6 month packages)
True habit change takes time, especially when stress, hormones, and years of dieting history are involved. We can discuss what level of support makes sense for you and what packages will suit you best.
What makes your approach different?
I take a whole-person holistic approach, not just food and exercise.
That includes:
• behaviour design and habit change
• emotional awareness and mindset
• stress and nervous system support
• identity-based change (not willpower)
There’s no judgement, no extremes, and no pressure to be perfect. Just steady, sustainable progress. I also work from a place of personal experience with my own transformation.
Is health coaching worth the cost?
Health coaching isn’t about paying for more information. It’s about paying for support, accountability, and guidance so change actually happens.
Many clients invest in coaching because they’re tired of doing it alone and tired of starting over. Long-term change is often more cost-effective than repeated short-term fixes.
Who is coaching not right for?
Coaching may not be the right fit if:
• you’re looking for a quick fix or rigid rules
• you’re not ready to make changes
• you want someone to tell you exactly what to do without discussion
Coaching works best when you’re open, curious, and willing to engage in the process.
How do I get started?
The first step is reaching out via email to discuss a no-pressure discovery call after filling in a comprehensive Health History form. This is a chance to talk through where you are, what you’re struggling with, and whether coaching feels like the right support for you. It’s also a chance to see if we can work together.
No hard sell, I promise. Just an honest conversation.
Still not sure? That’s completely okay. Making changes to your health, especially during peri-menopause or menopause, can feel overwhelming. You don’t need to decide anything today.
If you’re curious, I’d would encourage you to explore the rest of the website, read through the blog posts or download and use the free resources available.
They’ll give you a feel for my approach, my tone, and whether this style of support resonates with you.
Many people start by simply applying one or two small changes from the free guides and that alone can be helpful. If, over time, you realise you’d like more personalised support and accountability, coaching is there as an option.
There’s no pressure, no hard sell, and no expectation that coaching is the “right” next step for everyone.
Take what’s useful. Leave what’s not. And when, or if, you’re ready, we can talk.
